Simtars has an emergency response team on-call 24/7 available to provide expert assistance to underground coal mines. We provide a gas monitoring solution — mobile gas laboratory (20-point tube bundle system and gas chromatograph) — remote support and personnel, to the mine site during an emergency.

Emergency response to underground coal mine emergencies

The Simtars emergency response team provides expert assistance for underground coal mine emergencies. We have extensive experience supporting the Mines Inspectorate, mining companies and the Queensland Mines Rescue Service using our state-of-the-art self-contained mobile gas monitoring laboratory.

  • Simtars mobile laboratory containing a 20-point tube bundle system
  • Gas chromatograph with all necessary carrier and calibration gases
  • Gas chemists to run the gas chromatographs, produce trends and interpret data
  • Mining engineers experienced in all underground coal mining techniques
  • Remote support until equipment has been received at the mine

Accident/incident investigation and simulation

If an accident or incident does happen, our investigative team can you determine its cause. Our team has extensive experience supporting Queensland Mines Inspectorate investigations, and will help you gather the required information and provide 3D computer-generated simulations where required.
