Simtars Tour - MEU and UMWA
Simtars hosted a delegation from the MEU (Mining and Energy Union) and UMWA (United Mine Workers of America) on 23 November. The delegation spent the morning meeting members of the Simtars Executive Team and technical staff.
The site tour included an overview of Simtars’ training offerings and testing capabilities regarding use of electrical equipment in hazardous areas. Guests visited the gas and analytical chemistry laboratories, highlighting the important role of occupational hygiene and analytical chemistry in supporting safety and health in the resources sector. The tour concluded with propagation tube and dust laboratory demonstrations and a showcase of the mobile gas laboratory and associated emergency response capabilities.
