Simtars Welcomes First Female Executive Director

01 July 2022

In April 2022, Kerri Melkersson was welcomed as Simtars’ first female Executive Director in the organisation’s 39- year history.

Kerri joined the resources regulator in 2018, following a 20-year career spanning workers’ compensation and finance, to support regulatory reform following the re-identification of coal workers’ pneumoconiosis.

Passionate about safety and health outcomes for Queensland’s resource workers, she is focussed on ensuring that Simtars provides contemporary best practice health and safety services, targeted strategic research and continues to deliver critical emergency capability and response.

You can meet Kerri at the upcoming Queensland Mining Industry Health and Safety Conference, where she will be available for a chat at the Simtars booth.
