Simtars CAMGAS and Safegas 2022 Users Group

05 August 2022

Simtars recently hosted the CAMGAS and Safegas Users Group seminar.

The event was an excellent opportunity for underground coal mine operators to refresh and enhance their knowledge on gas monitoring, trend analyses and troubleshooting. Proficiency in mine gas analysis is at the core of Simtars, making the seminar an informative experience for all who attended.

The seminar included sessions on advancements in spontaneous combustion research, advanced micro gas chromatography techniques and troubleshooting, and a tour of Simtars to showcase some of our current research projects. The seminar was in an open format so operators from different mine sites had the opportunity to share their own experiences.

Peter Dent reminded us all why Simtars was originally established and personally delivered the presentations to the chromatographer of the year, Andrew Adamson from Broadmeadow mine, and runner up, Lance Scotton, also from Broadmeadow mine. Congratulations, Andrew and Lance.

Thank you to Oaky North mine (Glencore), Broadmeadow mine (BMA), Ensham mine (Ensham Resources) Moranbah North and Grosvenor mines (Anglo American) for attending this year’s event and offering valuable discussions in support of making the coal mining industry a safer workplace.

Simtars Safegas CAMGAS Users Group is a free annual event for Simtars premium customers in Queensland and New South Wales.
