The Petroleum and Gas Inspectorate does not regulate petrol, diesel or the price of fuel. For more information about fuel pricing, or to make a complaint, please visit the government's Consumer rights website.

For information and enquiries about non-fuel gases (acetylene, medical gases, etc.) please visit the Work Health and Safety Queensland website.

  • apply for a gas work licence, gas work authorisation or a gas device approval authority

Southern Region

Includes the local government areas of Brisbane, Gold Coast, Logan, Scenic Rim, Ipswich, Redland, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, Southern Downs, Toowoomba, Western Downs, Goondiwindi, Maranoa, Balonne, Murweh, Paroo, Quilpie and Bulloo.

Prescribed incident notification and fuel gas emergencies

Operators and persons in control of a business or undertaking are required to report prescribed incidents at operating plant or involving gas-related devices to the Petroleum and Gas Inspectorate.

Report by phone (immediately): 1300 910 933 (24 hours, 7 days a week)
Report using the online form (within 2 business days of incident).
