Coal Inspectorate

The Coal Inspectorate is led by Chief Inspector Jacques Le Roux. This inspectorate conducts inspections, audits, and investigations at underground and open-cut mines as well as exploration sites.

It also engages with industry to improve understanding of safety and health risk hazards and obligations through various forums held throughout the year.

Our inspectors are based in Mackay and Rockhampton near the sites they regulate.

The Board of Examiners Secretariat manages the Practising Certificate Scheme, which is currently in the introductory phase, pending legislative changes. To register and lodge PCS activities, please see our website: https://www.boepcs.qld.gov.au/
