During the re-fuelling of a Caterpillar 797B Rear Dump Truck, a large quantity of diesel emitted from the fuel tank overflow line and ignited. It is possible that the ignition source was the hot turbocharger, positioned directly below the overflow line. In the subsequent fire, the truck was totally lost.
