On Sunday 7 July 2019, at approximately 2.00am, a 27 year old coal mine worker was found
entangled in an excavator access ladder at Baralaba coal mine. The coal mine worker was recovered by emergency responders and was unable to be resuscitated.
A formal investigation by the Queensland mines inspectorate is underway.
