Miners Memorial Day Service 2020 live event

10 September 2020

On 19 September every year, we come together to commemorate the lives of miners lost in Queensland mines. This day marks the anniversary of the state’s worst mining disaster where, in 1921, when 75 miners lost their lives in a coal mine at Mount Mulligan.

COVID-19 will not stop us from honouring those who have been lost.

In 2020, Miners Memorial Day will be professionally staged and streamed online so everyone, no matter where they are, can participate in this important event without any public health risk.

Join us from the comfort and safety of your own home to experience the Traditional Owners’ welcome, the commemorative service, representative speakers from across industry, and a thoughtful musical presentation.

Be a part of this historical event when miners’ family, friends and colleagues can unite and remember as a community online.
